The most used types of pompage in rehabilitation are those related to the joint, muscle and circulatory. The therapist will use different manual techniques which can then affect an entire body segment, or act on a single structure (joint, muscle, ligaments, etc.). The Pompage,also known as ” Myofascial Rebuild ” is performed on myofascial and joint structures, in order to model the fascial structure ensuring a consequent “Release” (tension release and reduction). It’s a sweet and slow technique which is performed using a slight manual traction, smooth and progressive, never exceeding the physiological tissue elasticity. It’s a type of manual therapy, widely used in osteopathy and Physiotherapy for the treatment on the connective tissue.
